I don't have a lot to say here, but it does seem somehow connected that Al Gore is on the stage of the Oscars, clearly using "the rhetoric" to push "the politics" in a variety of ways. Oh and he just won something. How's that for real time news blogging?

I just caught a brief recap of Gore's speech--didn't he make the somewhat obigatory remark about the environment not being a red or blue issue? I mean "obligatory" in the post - Obama speech way that we now tend to acknowledge the artiface of being socially constructed or just signified by state boundaries and a color without necessarily finding an easy way past reiterating these distinctions (back to "I'm not trying to offend you" and then doing so by bringing it up).
I think I recall that as well....he also dropped stuff like, "my fellow americans"...etc etc...
